How to care for your MELTZ CANDLES

Elegant and sophisticated, candles are the perfect finishing touch to any homes's decor, not only for their glorious scent, but also for the cosy candlelight they throw. Fragrance brings personality and dimension that is your personal brand and the essence of your home.

There is nothing better than walking into a home that smells amazing, it says the person living there cares about their space and who they share it with.

HERE'S HOW TO CARE FOR MELTZ CANDLES........

FIRST LIGHT.

When lighting for the first time, burn the candle until wax melts across the entire surface up to the sides of the vessel as this will prevent tunnelling and create an even burn for the duration of the candle's life. This may take up to 2-4 hours, but we promise it WILL make your candles burn longer.

TRIM YOUR WICKS

We can't express enough the importance of maintaining a short wick to get the most from your MELTZ CANDLE. We recommend TRIMMING YOUR WICK before every lighting. The wick only needs to be approximately 6mm in length, keeping it this length will avoid mushrooming which can result in unnecessary soot.. This also controls the size of the flame allowing the most time from your candle.

KEEP THE WAX CLEAN

Keep the wax free of wick trimmings, matches and debris at all time.

KEEP AWAY FROM WINDY SPACES

Draughts decrease burn time, cause uneven burning, smoking and diminished scent throw.

HOW TO TELL IF  YOUR CANDLE IS BURNING PROPERLY

Efficient burning means the flame is not flickering, teardrop shaped and upright. Extinguish a candle if it smokes or the flame becomes too high. These signs indicate that the candle is not burning properly and the flame is not controlled. Let the candle cool, TRIM THE WICK, then check for draughts before re-lighting.

DO NOT BURN ALL THE WAY DOWN

MELTZ CANDLES are fitted with a safety cut off sustainer, that means the candle WILL extinguish itself at about 10mm from bottom of jar. Although it may be tempting to try to get THE LAST DROP , we strongly advise against this as the flame needs a solid base of wax to avoid overheating of glass jar.
